The honest version of this conversation goes like this.
Someone comes in because they have diabetes, or they're gluten-intolerant, or they've decided to clean up their diet, or someone in their family has a specific requirement and they're trying to find something everyone at the table can eat. They're half-expecting to be told we can't help, or to be handed something that technically qualifies but tastes like cardboard with good intentions.
That's the version of "healthy baking" most people have experienced. It's the version we've been trying to move away from at Simply Sweet for a while now.
The healthy bakes range we've built — millet-based teacakes, cookies, granola, savoury crackers, lavash — exists because the demand for it is real, and because we weren't satisfied with what was available locally for customers who needed it. If you're going to make something, make it properly. It sits alongside our gluten free and sugar free cakes, together forming what we call Simply Sweet Lite.
