It happens. And when it does, the question isn't which bakery has the best fondant work or the most elaborate designs — it's which bakery can actually get something to you today.

Setting expectations

What "Same-Day" Actually Means

Same-day delivery doesn't mean you can call at 7pm and expect a custom three-tier fondant cake at your door by 9pm. That's not same-day — that's a miracle, and no honest bakery will promise it.

What same-day does mean at Simply Sweet:

For standard items — cakes in our regular flavours with straightforward finishes, cupcakes, brownies, and other items we make regularly — orders placed in the morning can often be delivered the same evening. The earlier you message, the better the chances.

For anything custom — a specific design, a character cake, an elaborate fondant finish, a multi-tier creation — same-day isn't realistic and we'll tell you that upfront. These need proper lead time to do well. Rushing them produces something nobody wants. That's what our custom cakes are planned around.

The honest answer to "can you do same-day?" is almost always: message us and we'll tell you exactly what's possible for today.

Ready today

What's Usually Available Same-Day

The items most likely to be available for same-day orders:

Standard celebration cakes in our regular flavours — chocolate truffle, red velvet, vanilla bean, butterscotch. These are what we bake consistently and what's most likely to be available or ready quickly.

Cupcakes in standard flavours — a box of a dozen cupcakes with a simple decoration can often be turned around same-day if the request comes in before noon.

Brownies — our assorted brownie range (Nutella, chocolate chip, walnut, Biscoff, Oreo) is available more readily than custom cakes.

Cheesecake shots — depending on the day and what's been prepared, these may be available for same-day pickup or delivery.

Simple birthday cakes with a name and basic decoration — not an elaborate design, but something that looks thoughtful and tastes excellent. For more involved designs, see our birthday cakes.

What's almost never possible same-day

Character cakes, sculpted designs, chandelier cakes, large wedding cakes, dessert table setups, or anything that requires design consultation first.

Pickup vs Delivery

Two options for same-day orders.

Pickup

Pickup from our Navratan Complex store is the faster option. If something is ready, you can come collect it. No delivery window to wait for, no minimum order for delivery. Just confirm it's ready before you come.

Delivery

Delivery across Udaipur is available — we deliver to homes, offices, hotels, and venues across the city. Delivery charges depend on the distance from Navratan. For same-day delivery, confirm your address and timing when you message and we'll let you know if it's doable for your location and time slot.

Hotels & Venues

Particularly useful for guests staying in Udaipur for a wedding or a trip who want to surprise someone — we've delivered to properties across the city. Just give us the hotel name, the room or venue details, and the timing.

What to Do When You Need a Cake Today

Message us on WhatsApp. Not email, not Instagram DM — WhatsApp is where same-day orders get handled fastest.

When you message, tell us:

What you need (flavour, rough size, any decoration)
When you need it by
Whether you want pickup or delivery, and if delivery, your area
Any dietary requirements (everything is eggless already — but if you need sugar-free or gluten-free, say so upfront)

We'll respond quickly and tell you honestly what's possible. If we can do it, we'll confirm. If we can't, we'll say so — and suggest the earliest we could get it to you instead.

No vague "we'll try" — just a clear answer.

A Few Situations We Get These Requests For

Office birthdays are probably the most common. Someone remembered at 10am that a colleague's birthday is today. A dozen cupcakes or a simple celebration cake delivered to an office in Udaipur — that's manageable if the request comes in before noon.

Hotel guests planning a surprise. Someone staying at a hotel in Udaipur wants to have a cake waiting in the room when their partner arrives. We've done this more than once. It requires coordination with the hotel, a confirmed delivery time, and ideally a morning order — but it's the kind of thing that makes an impression.

Delivery charges apply based on distance from our Navratan Complex store. There's no fixed minimum order, but very small orders to distant locations may not be practical for same-day. We'll advise when you message.

Can you deliver to hotels in Udaipur for a surprise?

Yes. Share the hotel name, room or venue details, the guest's check-in time or when you want the delivery, and we'll coordinate. This works best with a morning order so we have time to arrange it properly.

Are same-day cakes eggless?

Yes — everything at Simply Sweet is 100% eggless. Same-day orders are no exception.

Can I get a sugar-free or gluten-free cake same-day?

Possibly, depending on what's been prepared that day. Mention the requirement when you message and we'll check availability. These items aren't always ready same-day but sometimes they are.
